I'm Darshan, Startup Founder Exploring the Product World

My entrepreneurial spark
I’ve always believed that business is more than buzzwords—it’s about vision, grit, and value. That belief started taking shape the day I visited Dhirubhai Ambani’s birthplace in Chorwad. Standing where he once stood, I knew I wanted to build something of my own—something real, something big. From a young age, I was fascinated by the stock market. While most kids were exploring hobbies, I was diving into charts, earnings reports, and market behavior. In high school, I started teaching myself both fundamental and technical analysis, which eventually led to my growing obsession with the intersection of tech and finance.

Finding My Way to Business
Though I began learning about finance and tech back in high school, it was during my first year of undergrad in 2020 that things really took off. With a green light from my parents, I co-founded LST Capital with a close friend—and what started as a bold experiment has now grown into a successful venture managing ₹2 crore in AUM. In my second year, I joined WictroniX as CFO. That experience opened the door to a team of sharp, driven people who shared the same vision. We built, scaled, and solved real problems together—and those moments remain some of the most fulfilling in my journey so far.

Life Beyond the Startup
The turning point in my journey came in 2023—when I realized that my background in civil engineering, while valuable, wasn’t enough to support the kind of tech-driven service startup I wanted to build. I decided to take a pause, reset, and pursue a technical master’s degree to sharpen my skills and widen my horizon. I was fortunate to receive offers from several top programs—CMU, NYU, UCSD, Purdue, and others. I ultimately chose Purdue as my next destination. Coming to the U.S. was an overwhelming but transformative experience. I found myself surrounded by diverse perspectives and incredible people. I was the youngest in my program, which gave me a steep—but exciting—learning curve. Looking back, it was one of the boldest and most rewarding decisions I’ve made.

These Days
Right now, I’m actively exploring full-time opportunities in business analytics and product management—roles where I can blend my startup mindset with a strong foundation in data and decision-making. At Purdue, I’ve worked on a range of impactful projects, from helping the Supreme Court of Indiana shape its AI learning strategy and policy framework, to contributing to YouTube Creator Studio at Google on creator analytics initiatives. These experiences, paired with my background in early-stage startups, have shaped how I think about products, users, and scalable systems. Beyond work, I’m passionate about tech at the intersection of finance and impact—and I’m always up for a good dashboard or an underrated business podcast.
